So don’t bother reading farther if that sort of thing annoys you 🙂 Momofuku, which means “lucky peach”, was started in NYC in 2004 by David Chang, as Momofuku Noodle Bar. The Noodle Bar began as a typical ramen restaurant but soon exploded in popularity when Chef Chang gave the team of cooks permission to use whatever ingredients they liked and cook however they wanted.     I know unique food trucks have become more common in Ottawa since we left, but in 2012 it seemed all you could find at a food truck in Ottawa was poutine, fries, hot dogs, etc – the usual fare (not that there’s anything wrong with that – I miss chip truck poutine more than I’d care to admit). So, when Nick and I discovered Moveable Feast here in San Jose we were over the moon.   • Playing Tourist in San Francisco

    Nick attended at the MacWorld conference in San Francisco last week from Thursday through Saturday, so we seized the day and booked a hotel room in downtown SF for Friday-Saturday nights, and spent the weekend up there! It was a big weekend for San Francisco as the 49ers were in the Superbowl – unfortunately not a win for us, but still a great time to be in San Francisco all the same.   • Busy first weekend in California!

    Hello world! This is our first blog post from California (actually first blog post ever). Nick and I arrived in Cali on Saturday August 25 and it’s been a total whirlwind since then getting set up, finding a cell phone provider, shopping for apartments, and running errands. We’re in corporate housing until October 9th but it turns out that corporate housing doesn’t even come with one kind of salad dressing!! They set us up with toilet paper and towels, which I guess are the important things, but we had to go out and actually buy peanut butter, salad dressing, olive oil, salt and pepper, and other essentials.
